Senior Surgical Technician - Providence Portland Medical Center. This posting represents a 0.9 FTE, Full Time, Evening position (3, 12 hour shifts, 36 hours a week. Weeknights, weekends with weeknight, weekend and holiday call. Extra Incentives $8,000 hiring bonus and for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Lyra Caregiver Assistance program – Up to 25 counseling or coaching sessions per eligible member per year Responsibilities The Surgical Technician role is a non‑licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra‑operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away leftover supplies and equipment. Required Qualifications Coursework/Training: Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school. Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist – National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association 3 years of Experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.
