The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Program Management and Administration is looking for an Accountant 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
Pay is based on the location of the selected applicant; salaries will be discussed at the time of the interview.
Anchorage: $2,725.50 - bi-weekly/non-overtime eligible
Fairbanks: $2,807.25 - bi-weekly/non-overtime eligible
Juneau: $2,862.00 - bi-weekly/non-overtime eligible
What you will be doing Under the general direction of the Project Control Chief, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide expert fund programming, financial compliance, and advanced accounting support for DOT&PF capital improvement projects across Alaska. As a key member of our statewide team, you will coordinate and oversee the development, programming, tracking, and adjustment of funding for a diverse portfolio—including federal aid highway, aviation, emergency relief, reimbursable, and state-funded projects.
Your work will ensure strict compliance with federal and state requirements, supporting both construction and non-construction activities throughout every stage of the project lifecycle. You'll serve as a trusted resource for Project Managers, regional Project Control units, Program Development, and Headquarters finance staff—helping to keep capital projects fiscally constrained, eligible for reimbursement, and aligned with federal award requirements and statewide planning documents.

Who we are looking for To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

- Accounting Operations: Knowledge of general ledger accounting and the control/subsidiary account relationships and reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and disbursing officer's accountability.
