Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Dayton, Ohio.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 4\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a PCU/Oncology unit requiring oncology or stepdown/PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.Details\n \n Work on a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients\n Mixed acuity unit caring for both Med Surg and Advanced Care patients\n Unit handles blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCAs, wounds, and other complex care needs\n Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential up to 1:5-6\n Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00-7:30\n Scheduled hours of 36 or 48 per week with no block scheduling\n 13 or 18 week winter contract options available\n Required to float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units, with priority given to travelers for floating\n May float to other Premier Health campuses within 10-15 miles of Main Campus\n Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday\n Uses Epic EMR system\n Requirements\n \n Active OH or compact RN license required\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Must be able to read and interpret EKG/dysrhythmia strips\n OCN certification preferred\n Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required\n Stepdown/PCU experience required in work history; ICU experience does not qualify\n Oncology experience required\n Sickle cell experience and chemo certification preferred but not required\n Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience preferred\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n Epic EMR experience required\n Skilled in IV therapy/infusions and starting and maintaining IVs\n Must pass online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment\n N95 mask fitting required prior to working on HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided\n Additional Information\n \n RNs with ONS certification may administer chemotherapy on this unit\n Navy blue scrubs required\n May float and support nursing care teams in high-risk respiratory/COVID units at facility discretion\n Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position\n Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be considered\n Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying and require facility rehire approval\n Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no changes after offer\n Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-744758.
