Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts assigned based on unit staffing needs. Float pool assignment may require floating to affiliated hospitals within walking distance (approximately 5-6 minute walk). 3:1 patient ratio.

• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and interpretation services
• Orientation provided: 36 hours
• Two pre-approved time-off periods available during contract

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care unit or step-down nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge nurse acceptable for second reference
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Essential Clinical Skills:

• Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration); insulin drip titration
• Chest tube, tracheostomy, and feeding tube care
• Pre/post hemodialysis and neurosurgery management
• Wound care including wound vac management
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Important Application Notes:

• Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be initiated immediately upon contract signing – this is time-sensitive and critical to meeting the start date
• Out-of-state candidates within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting as soon as possible; remote candidates will receive mailed fingerprint packets requiring urgent completion
• Former employees must have been separated from the organization for 6 months or more to be eligible
• Current employees of affiliated hospitals are not eligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
