The Horton Grand Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter and is steps away from the Convention Center, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. We're looking for a server to join our amazing team! This is a pm server shift beginning as early as 3pm and finishing as late as 11pm. This is a part-time position, working 3-5 shifts per week.

• Greeting and seating customers
• Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the ordering system
• Making menu item recommendations
• Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
• Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that food is high quality
• Providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals
• Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary
• Verify identification and age requirements of customers
• Mix traditional and creative cocktails
• Process payment from customers
• Clean glasses and bar utensils
• Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
• Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
• Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
• Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
• 2 years serving experience required. Bartending, catering, banquet service is a big plus.
