Job Opportunity at Jackson WalkerLeading Texas Law Firm: With 500+ attorneys, Jackson Walker is the largest law firm in Texas and has been serving clients since 1887.Strong Reputation: The firm has 27 national and 142 metropolitan Best Law Firms rankings for 2026.Highly Recognized Attorneys: 88 attorneys and 30 departments were recognized in the 2026 Chambers USA Guide.Sophisticated Legal Work: Attorneys work with Fortune 500 companies, major financial institutions, emerging businesses, and other prominent clients.Broad Practice Areas: Opportunities across litigation, corporate/M&A, real estate, energy, healthcare, labor & employment, trusts & estates, tax, intellectual property, and more.Career Growth: The firm emphasizes opportunities to build or expand your practice, develop professionally, and work alongside highly regarded legal talent.Strong Culture: Jackson Walker highlights its culture, work-life balance, career outlook, quality of work, and associate/partner relationships as key aspects of its employee experience.National & International Exposure: Although deeply rooted in Texas, the firm serves clients across the U.S. and globally, with its network reaching 85 countries and territories.Job Type: Full TimeLocation: Austin, TexasPay: Competitive Pay & Benefits!Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing:Coordinate client billing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with engagement terms, and adherence to firm billing guidelines.Partner closely with attorneys, accounting leadership, and internal departments to deliver timely, accurate, and client-compliant billing services.Open and maintain client and matter records, including billing formats, rates, and contact details.Review engagement letters to ensure billing compliance and configure systems accordingly.Set up and manage special billing arrangements, rates, and disbursements.Apply trust/retainer funds at the time of billing as needed.Submit e-bills, rates, budgets, appeals, etc., into various e-bill sites as needed.Manage the receipt of prebills via the PrebillManager application.Generate, distribute, and track pre-bills for attorney review and approval as requested.Follow up on outstanding pre-bills and escalate non-compliance to firm leadership.Edit and finalize bills per attorney instruction while ensuring adherence to firm billing policies.Process write-offs and billing adjustments as approved.Ensure compliance with firm billing guidelines and client billing requirements.Support internal audits and respond to billing-related inquiries.Partner with attorneys and firm leadership to address complex billing scenarios.Experience you will need:Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.Minimum 7 years of legal billing experience; law firm experience required.Proficiency with legal accounting and e-billing systems; Aderant experience highly preferred.Strong knowledge of e-billing is required.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Outlook, and Word.Ability to work under time constraints, alone or in a team environment.Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in person, by e-mail, and telephone to provide information with courtesy and tact to clients, attorneys, and other staff members.Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
