Crime Scene Investigator

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Crime Scene Investigator. Starting salary $25.51per hour. Must be able to type 30 correct words per minute. Minimum Wonderlic score of 18, OPAC score of 80%. Requires on-call availability. Associate's Degree or equivalent experience and training. Position Requirements: Ability to interpret law and ordinances of the State and County with particular reference to rules of evidence and courtroom demeanor. Knowledge of techniques germane to investigations, research, planning, organization, evaluation, and problem recognition. Knowledge of forensic science. Experience and/or training in a criminal investigation setting required. Proficiency in written and oral communication. KnowledgeofAgency policies and procedures. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time. Ability to test-fire handguns and rifles. NOTE: Schedule to be determined and must be available for on-call assignments. Position Duties: Evaluate and collect evidence at crime scene. Request laboratory work. Construct forensics art/sketches. Assist investigators as needed.
