Senior Policy and Compliance Officer

Full time, fixed term until 31 December 2027Play a key role in shaping policy and ensuring the University meets its regulatory and compliance obligationsBase Salary $126,065 - $142,171 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThis role sits within the Policy, Governance and Regulatory Affairs team and is responsible for supporting policy reform across the Education and Students Portfolio. You will provide high‑level analysis, advice and written communications to ensure the University remains aligned with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. Your work will directly influence policy quality, compliance integrity and strategic decision making across the institution. The role works closely with academic and professional staff to support implementation of the University’s Collective Excellence (CE28) Education priorities, including the Curriculum Quality and Sustainability (CQS) project.Your key responsibilities will be to:work closely with the Senior Manager, Policy and Legislative Compliance and key stakeholders across the Education and Students Portfoliocoordinate policy review and reform projects, including drafting new and amending existing policies and proceduressupport the development of a new curriculum policy frameworkmonitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess implications for University policy and complianceprepare high‑level written communications, including committee papers, briefings, presentations and strategic reportssupport strategic projects relating to compliance, governance and regulatory reform.About youdemonstrated capability in policy development, review and reform, including drafting complex policy documentsexperience translating legislative and regulatory requirements into internal policies or guidelinesexperience working in the higher education sector, public service, or a large complex organisationunderstanding of higher education course and curriculum structures, policies, and requirementsexperience providing high‑level regulatory and compliance advice to senior stakeholdersstrong capability in research, analysis and preparing written reports, submissions and committee paperstertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaYou must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
