Shift: 12-hour Days (MondaySaturday, rotating weekends)

Hours/Week: 36-40 hours/week (based on schedule cycle)

Employment Type: Contract

Licensure/Certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CDN or CNN preferred

Experience: Minimum 1 year inpatient dialysis experience; first-time travelers require 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care

Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25/hour

What You'll Do

• Provide dialysis care to patients on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis (experience not required for PD)
• Access fistulas and dialysis catheters, ensuring patient safety and effective treatment
• Monitor and document patient responses, vital signs, and treatment progress
• Collaborate with charge nurses and healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Travel efficiently between multiple facilities, including WKMC (main facility), Pierremont, Bossier, and South campuses
• Support patients with complex needs in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Follow EMR documentation protocols using Meditech Expanse and operate related equipment like IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensers

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• At least 1 year of inpatient dialysis experience (2 years for first-time travelers in acute care)
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to start
• Critical thinking skills, independent work style, and ability to travel between facilities

• Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN)
• Experience with Braun dialysis machines and water system functionality
