Salary: $170,000 - $210,000 per year

A privately held, full-service transportation and logistics provider, this organization delivers turnkey solutions across complex heavy-haul, crane, and rigging projects throughout North America. With decades of experience, the company combines specialized transportation, in-house engineering, and project management capabilities to execute highly technical moves involving oversized or mission-critical equipment. Known for its ability to handle challenging, time-sensitive projects, the team supports clients across industries by planning, lifting, transporting, and installing large-scale assets with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and cost optimization.
We are growing and looking for a Financial Controller who can transition into the CFO role within the next 9-18 months!

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Lead all accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, cash)
Deliver accurate monthly financials within 10 business days
Maintain clean balance sheet reconciliations and audit-ready books
Oversee billing, collections, and transaction accuracy
Enforce internal controls, cash discipline, and process standardization
Identify inefficiencies and drive automation/improvements
Ensure accurate job costing, margin visibility, and cost allocation
Partner with operations on revenue recognition and profitability
Improve DSO, billing speed, and cash conversion cycle
Build/own 13-week cash flow forecasting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting
Support EBITDA normalization and financial clarity
Clean, audit-ready financials with minimal adjustments
Consistent, timely close (10 days or better)
Improved cash flow, billing, and collections
Clear KPI visibility and job-level profitability
Business ready for institutional diligence
Qualifications
8–12+ years in accounting/finance (Controller-level)
Multi-entity experience ($50M–$150M preferred)
Strong in job costing environments (construction, logistics, manufacturing, etc.)
Experience improving processes, controls, and systems
ERP experience (NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
Nice to Have: CPA, MBA, or transaction/QoE exposure
