About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68122!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU RN - Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility. - Driver's license required for eligibility. Description: This position is on a fast-paced floor that specializes in stepdown care. The department utilizes a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Common diagnoses include cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and patients needing continuous EEG monitoring. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications. A charge nurse is present on each shift and will have responsibilities in patient care. Nurse aids/patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1:10 or 2:20. Shifts run from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Every other weekend and every third holiday are required. Floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be necessary. The first week includes onboarding and 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation. Attributes that will help a nurse succeed in this role include a positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking capabilities, and problem-solving abilities. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting is done using EPIC. This position does not require a BSN.
