RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool – Contract

Facility: Adventist Health Sierra Vista
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Address: 1010 Murray Avenue, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (36 or 48 Hours/Week)
Pay Rate: $56–$58/hr

Estimated Weekly Pay:

36 Hours: $2,016–$2,088/week
48 Hours: $2,688–$2,784/week

Assignment Type: EXCLUSIVE Epic Assignment

Job Summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN to provide high-quality patient care across multiple critical care areas, including ICU, Stepdown (PCU), Med-Surg, Day Stay, PACU, and Emergency Department . Candidates must maintain competencies across all assigned units and possess current Epic EMR experience .

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU, PCU/Stepdown, ER, or High-Risk Labor & Delivery experience within the last 5 years
Critical Care Course or equivalent experience preferred
Experience caring for telemetry and cardiac patients
Ability to float between ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, PACU, Day Stay, and ER
Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
Current Epic EMR experience required

Required Credentials

Active California RN License
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
PALS Certification (or obtained within 60 days of hire/transfer)
TNCC Certification (or currently enrolled in an upcoming TNCC course)
Associate Degree in Nursing required
BSN preferred

Level III NICU
County-designated Trauma Center
EMR: Epic
Serves ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, PACU, Day Stay, and Emergency Department patients

Clinical Skills

Candidates should have experience with:

Cardiac telemetry monitoring
ECG rhythm interpretation
Post-coronary intervention care
Femoral sheath removal using Femostop
Post-pacemaker and AICD patient management
Blood product administration
IV therapy and critical care medications
Emergency response and rapid patient assessment
