About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Infrastructure Officer (CIO) to provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for its infrastructure operations. The CIO will be responsible for leading the Maintenance of Way & Facilities operations, with a focus on asset management, modernization initiatives, and long-range infrastructure renewal efforts. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's mission to deliver safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services. The ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative and emotionally intelligent leader with a strong operational and infrastructure background, capable of unifying specialized teams, building productive labor relationships, and effectively communicating across diverse groups. Key responsibilities include overseeing critical infrastructure functions, advancing modernization and asset renewal initiatives, and supporting organizational transformation and continuous improvement efforts. Candidates for the CIO position at the company should have a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years' of experience in the operation, maintenance, management, engineering, construction, or delivery of transportation infrastructure or related large-scale operational environments. A minimum of 5 years' in a senior management or executive leadership capacity is required. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading organizational change, particularly within large and complex unionized environments, and will be adept at balancing long-range strategy with operational decision-making. Desirable qualifications include professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
