A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in manufacturing engineering, electromechanical engineering, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field; OR a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline. In some cases, an associate degree combined with relevant work experience, professional licensure/certifications, or demonstrated competencies may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Strong communication skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff. Willingness to utilize various instructional methods, including email and online learning management systems. Commitment to student success, engagement, and empowerment in their learning journey. Alignment with COTC’s mission, values, and objectives. Successful completion of a background check is required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in or working knowledge of FANUC robotics systems Certification in or working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor A master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in an engineering-related field or education. Previous teaching experience, curriculum development, and assessment experience. For Advanced Manufacturing Technology courses: Working knowledge of manual and CNC machinery, precision assembly, and multi-craft maintenance. Prior experience in manufacturing. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to support student learning. Utilize diverse instructional strategies, including technology-enhanced learning, to accommodate various learning styles. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to promote academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessments in accordance with college policies. Student Engagement & Advisement Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation. Serve as an academic resource for students, offering guidance on coursework, study strategies, and academic progress. Encourage student engagement through active discussions, collaborative projects, and real-world applications of course material. Be available for student inquiries and provide office hours or virtual support as needed. Culture of Respect Promote an inclusive classroom environment that values individual differences and mutual respect. Model professional behavior and ethical conduct in interactions with students, colleagues, and staff. Uphold academic integrity and encourage a culture of honesty and accountability.
