Transportation Operations Coordinator

Description Start your career in transportation This is a ground-floor role at a national trucking and logistics network, built for someone who wants to learn the industry from the inside. You do not need transportation experience. You need to be organized, dependable, and interested in learning how the business works. Over your first year you will learn how a freight network actually runs: how trucks and equipment get tracked, how drivers get recruited and brought on board, and how the records behind it all stay current. You will work alongside our terminal agents and internal teams and see how the whole operation fits together. We train for this role. We are not looking for someone who already knows the answers. Who this role is for You are early in your career, or changing careers into logistics You are organized and you notice when something does not add up You can juggle several things at once without losing track of any of them You want to learn transportation operations from the ground up What you will do Your first 90 days Learn our terminals, our teams, and how freight moves through the network Track trucks, trailers, and equipment: where it is, who has it, and what condition it is in Help keep driver records organized and current Support the team with scheduling, data entry, and follow-up As you grow into the role Own equipment inventory for your assigned terminals, keeping our records accurate and reconciling them against what agents report on the ground Help our agents find and hire drivers by posting openings, working the applicant pipeline, and scheduling conversations Walk new drivers through their onboarding paperwork and orientation, and serve as their first point of contact for questions Partner with our Safety team to keep driver files up to date and flag anything that needs attention Take on cross-functional projects across transport operations as your knowledge builds A quick note on how we are structured ARL is an agent-based network. Our drivers are employed by our terminal agents rather than by ARL directly. Internally we call them IBEs, short for independent business entities. You will pick this up fast, and we will walk you through the rest on day one. Where this leads This role is a training ground by design. It touches equipment and inventory, driver recruiting and onboarding, and safety and compliance, which means you finish your first year with a working knowledge of the entire operation and a real sense of which part of it you want to go deeper on. People who do this job well build the relationships and the credibility to move into any of those specialties as seats open up. Requirements What you need High school diploma or equivalent Comfort with email, spreadsheets, and picking up new software Clear written and verbal communication Attention to detail and consistent follow-through Valid driver license Helpful, but not required Coursework or a degree in logistics, supply chain, or business Any background in customer service, administrative work, recruiting, or warehouse operations An interest in trucking and transportation We hire for reliability and attention to detail.
