Responsibilities include:Assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing resident activitiesEncouraging residents to participate in individual and group activitiesHelping with games, crafts, music, special events, outings, celebrations, and other programsSpending one-on-one time with residents based on their interests and needsAssisting with decorating and preparing for special events and holidaysHelping create a positive, fun, and welcoming environment for residentsWorking closely with the Activities Director and other team membersSupporting programs that promote residents' social, emotional, physical, and cognitive well-beingWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is:Friendly, dependable, and enthusiasticCreative and willing to bring new ideas to the teamComfortable interacting with seniors and building relationshipsAble to work independently and as part of a teamCompassionate and committed to providing a great resident experienceIf you love having fun, connecting with people, and making someone's day a little brighter, this could be the perfect position for you!Apply today and join the Albany Health and Rehabilitation team!ResponsibilitiesActivities Assistant will develop and implement activity programs which are appropriate to the residents based on varied backgrounds, emotional needs and interestsAssisting the Activities Director with an evaluation of each resident according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations and need for meaningful activity programsDocumenting activity plans and progress notes as directedWork closely with the Activities Director to plan and set up each assigned activity, which includes gathering supplies re-arranging rooms, etc.Assisting in the development and distribution of monthly activity calendars to residents and posting these calendars throughout the facilityAssisting in the development and maintenance of facility newslettersComply with safety requirements, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with facility policyPerforming other duties as assigned by the AdministratorQualificationsMust possess a High School Diploma or GEDKnowledge on the use of personal computers, e-mail accounts, software programs such as Word and ExcelHave a thorough understanding of the principles of best Activities practicesPatience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity and physical level in which they are currently functioningThe ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Corporate Compliance and HIPPAPrevious experience in long-term care is preferred
