X-Ray/Bone Density Technologist #Per Diem The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors . This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors’ practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties. Job Responsibilities Perform bone density studies and general radiological procedures: Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist’s discretion, the referring physician. Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best‑case imaging. Observe patient while in the X‑ray area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction. Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation. Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate. Work in conjunction with mammography area to perform Bone Density as needed. Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections. Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records. Address any service calls and follow up as required or as directed, based on operational need. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications High school graduate or equivalency. Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience. NYS License, ARRT certified. Current BLS required. Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations. Candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently. Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures. Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc. Must be a motivated individual with a positive mindset and exceptional work ethic. Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices (multiple sites and flexible schedule).
