Job Description
The Production Supervisor leads a small team in a busy manufacturing facility, ensuring they have the skills, resources, and tools needed to achieve goals in safety, quality, yield, and productivity. This role oversees day-to-day operations, including hiring, mentoring, performance and process improvement, and production, quality, and safety activities. The Production Supervisor actively coaches team members, drives continuous improvement, and supports a culture of safety and high performance.

Job Description

This role oversees day-to-day operations, including hiring, mentoring, performance and process improvement, and production, quality, and safety activities. The Production Supervisor actively coaches team members, drives continuous improvement, and supports a culture of safety and high performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and direction to a small production team to meet and exceed operational goals in safety, quality, yield, and productivity.
- Mentor and coach team members to support their growth, performance, and professional development.
- Participate in hiring activities to build a capable and engaged production team.
- Embrace and promote a safety-first culture by understanding safety rules, setting clear expectations, and role-modeling safe behaviors.
- Contribute to the overall safety program through continuous improvements and proactive identification of safety opportunities.
- Guide the team in understanding customer quality expectations and ensure they consistently strive to deliver the highest quality products.
- Use and understand quality systems, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), and coach the team to fully utilize these systems.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve consistency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Encourage team members to ask questions, share ideas, and actively participate in activities that improve productivity and efficiency.
- Tutor and train team members so they clearly understand what needs to happen to achieve productivity goals.
- Lead the performance management process by setting expectations regarding performance, behaviors, and results, and holding the team accountable.
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources, tools, and support to deliver on production and quality targets.
- Engage in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities to enhance processes and reduce waste.
- Oversee day-to-day production operations in the manufacturing facility, ensuring schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
- Experience driving quality improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with productivity improvement techniques and methods for engaging teams in problem-solving.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, busy production facility.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support production, quality, and safety objectives.
