This role involves performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the efficiency of legal processes as well as provide exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.Litigation Legal Assistant Responsibilities:Prepare, format, proofread, and manage a variety of legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and client materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm standards.Maintain electronic client and matter files, including document management, records organization, matter opening, and file conversions.Coordinate court filings, docket management, and interactions with federal, state, and local courts and agencies while tracking deadlines and case-related commitments.Manage attorney calendars, travel arrangements, meetings, expenses, and project timelines to support efficient practice operations.Review and process time entries, billing information, and client billing memos, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm billing procedures.Provide exceptional administrative support by handling client communications, coordinating with internal teams and vendors, delegating tasks as appropriate, and serving as backup support to ensure seamless coverage.The areas of law served will include: appellate, automotive, probate and other areas as needed.Litigation Legal Assistant Desired Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate or bachelor’s degree preferred3+ years of equivalent training and experience in LitigationExperience with litigation procedures and court filing requirements, with experience in Kent County preferredProficient in Microsoft SuiteAbility to work onsite in Detroit (company paid parking)
