Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,029–$2,099 per week Contract weeks: 13 Shift: 8-hour daytime shifts, 06:15–14:45, Monday–Friday Start date: 08/31/2026 Work setting: Outpatient perioperative/PACU care in a travel assignment Location: State College, PA Responsibilities Assess and respond to the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs; advocate for the patient throughout the care continuum. Apply professional nursing judgment to implement care plans and address identified problems, including IV therapy when indicated. Communicate patient assessments and care plans to the appropriate team members to ensure coordinated care. Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic measures (labs, radiology, EKG) and participate in perioperative nursing activities, including accurate transcription and execution of orders. Transcribe and implement physicians’ orders in a timely manner; assist with admission to the surgical center and ensure proper documentation, site markings, and coordination with the anesthesiology team. Document in the patient’s electronic health record accurately and promptly; verify required information and ensure all relevant paperwork and safety checks are complete. Provide patient and family education tailored to the care setting; assist with supplies management and maintain cost-conscious use of resources. When assigned to PACU, monitor airway and vital signs, manage pain appropriately, and coordinate with the surgeon and anesthesiologist for any concerns; determine readiness for discharge per criteria.
