Payroll SpecialistJob Category: FinanceRequisition Number: PAYRO001168Location: Treasure Island Resort & CasinoWelch, MN 55089*Please note: resume is required for this position.Pay Rate: $22.00 an hourEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain payroll records by collecting, calculating and entering dataMonitor and review time card approval and signoff process, which includes identifying, researching, and resolving discrepanciesProcess tip and toke allocationsReview and process payroll batch entries for commissions, tips, service charges, incentivesSet-up wage garnishments, child support and levies, and monitor third party checksSet-up adjustment rules and the likeTransmit payroll and receive/load payroll check detail and summary report output filesPrepare payroll general ledger journal entries and compile/create reportsCalculate and prepare manual checks and notifications of positive payComplete weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll and 401k reconciliationsCoordinate with internal and external business partners to process 401(k) contributions, loans, and funds transfersVerify database information between ADP & Kronos periodicallyProvide assistance to timecard reviewers as needed for time card maintenanceResolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing informationAssist Payroll Supervisor with non-routine issuesKnowledge and Certification, Skills and Abilities:Required Knowledge and Certification:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience2 years experience managing a payroll cycle from start to finishPreferred Knowledge and Certification:Previous ADP / Workforce Now payroll and Kronos workforce management experiencePrevious experience having processed a weekly payroll for 1000+ employeesRequired Skills:Accurate and detail-orientedHighly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesStrong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and WindowsExcellent verbal and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent problem solving skillsAbove average math skillsRequired Abilities:Ability to work fast and efficientlyAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to independently complete multiple tasksAbility to serve both internal and external customersPhysical Demands:Must be able to sit for long periods of time with infrequent amounts of walking and standingMust have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop infrequentlyMust be able to reach and twist infrequentlyMust be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionallyMust have the ability to independently lift up to 10 pounds occasionallyMust be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motionsMust have good eye hand coordinationWorking Environment:Work is performed primarily in administration building but may include going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smokeMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidaysExtensive computer useOccasionally must deal with angry or hostile individualsEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
