Litigation Associate, Bodily Injury Defense | Boca Raton, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | Bodily Injury / Personal Injury Defense

How many of your files have you taken from first report to final outcome, with nobody else's name on the strategy?

For a lot of bodily injury defense lawyers, the answer is not many. Files get split. Partners take the interesting depositions. Trial dates move and someone senior suddenly steps in. You end up competent at every stage and in charge of none of them.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal of Distinct Recruitment, and I'm recruiting for a client firm's bodily injury defense team in Boca Raton. The point of this role is ownership.

Your files

• Bodily injury and personal injury defense: auto related injuries, premises claims and other negligence matters

• You set the strategy, run the discovery and report to the carrier

• You take and defend the depositions, including treating physicians and retained experts

• You argue your own motions and hearings

• You prepare cases for trial and get courtroom time, leading trials as your experience allows

Your background

• 2+ years of Florida civil litigation, bodily injury defense ideally

• Florida Bar license

• Comfortable with medical causation, damages and life care plan arguments

• A habit of thinking about resolution value early, not just on the eve of mediation

Your level

Whether you're a mid level associate or a senior attorney already running a docket, the role scales. Senior people get the higher exposure injury files, a hand in supervising others and direct relationships with the carriers. The salary range is deliberately wide so experience is properly rewarded, not capped to fit a template.

Your terms

• $125,000 to $200,000 depending on experience

• 1,950 billable hours

• Hybrid, based in Boca Raton

• A visible path toward partnership

Bodily injury defense gets dismissed as routine by people who've never done it well. Good practitioners know the work lives in the detail: the gap in treatment, the prior MRI, the deposition question that reframes a case. That detail is satisfying when the file is yours, and frustrating when it never quite is.
