The Procurement Manager is responsible for the strategic and proactive management of inventory,

supplier relationships, and procurement processes. This role works closely with the Purchasing

Agent, who manages day-to-day transactional activities, to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and

reliable supply chain operations. This position plays a critical role in supporting our goals of being recognized as the highest-quality manufacturer and the most responsive, customer-focused organization in our industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement Supply Chain Management
• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
• Analyze procurement data and conduct spend analysis to support decision-making.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supplier and cost performance.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Source, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve optimal value.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations based on quality, performance, cost, and reliability.
• Perform quarterly site visits to key supplier facilities.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with quantities (ROQ).
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Shipping/Receiving teams.
• Communicate and resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, or terms.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure procurement practices comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply conditions to anticipate material availability.
• Participate in trade shows and industry events to identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Post-secondary education (college, university, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred
• Supervisory experience considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years of ERP system experience
