Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Center requiring TNCC certification and MEDITECH EMR experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Center of an acute care hospital setting
• High-volume unit seeing approximately 180-200 patient visits per day
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and CVA cases
• Unit includes a 6-bed behavioral health/seclusion area staffed by psych personnel
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Charge nurse present on shifts along with 5-6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift
• Security and patient safety sitters available, with ventilator and trauma patients held in ER until admitted
• 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapist support for the ER
• Central monitoring tech supports telemetry/monitor needs
• Nurses perform their own lab draws and IV starts
• Uses MEDITECH 6.15 EMR system
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 17-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA state or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ASLS or NIHSS, plus CPI
• Minimum of 5+ years of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Prior Emergency Department experience in an acute care setting required
• MEDITECH EMR experience required
• Driver's license address must match location for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population including trauma, neuro, ortho, and stroke patients as a CVA center
• Facility ships out a significant portion of trauma, neuro, and ortho patients to other centers
• Round-the-clock physician and mid-level provider coverage with overlapping shifts
• Pharmacy staffed in-department 11 hours per day and available on-campus 24/7
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
• Auto lunch deductions apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Previous employees of the health system within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Cancellation policy requires 12 hours notice every 2 weeks
