Accounting Supervisor

American Vanguard (NYSE: AVD) has a new opportunity for an ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR at their new Irvine location to join their accounting team and perform various accounting functions in support of the Corporate accounting functions for the company. The overall expectation for this position will be to develop and maintain best-in-class processes and procedures; provide leadership and accurate reporting.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise corporate accounting staff (currently three team members)
• Prepare journal entries
• Perform account analyses
• Provide ad hoc reports as requested
• Work on special projects as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

• Good understanding of GAAP concepts
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Mindset of need to be "best in class" in relation processes and procedures

• Strive to develop and maintain a positive team environment

Education Requirements:

• BA or BS degree in accounting or finance required

Experience Requirements:

• 3+ years supervising an accounting team
• Experience with QAD a plus, but not required
• Manufacturing / multi-company experience desired
