Purchasing SpecialistThe Purchasing Specialist is an integral role within the organization. This individual will report to the Director of Supply Chain and will work closely with team members from all departments within the company. In addition, the Purchasing Specialist serves as a liaison between vendors and Precision Science team members. This is a fulltime position with the following benefits: Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am - 4pm Affordable Benefits 1st of the month 401K match program 10 PAID HOLIDAYS Paid Time Off Career Development OpportunitiesKey Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop, lead, and execute purchasing requirements.Create purchase orders as neededIdentify and qualify new vendorsHandle communications and negotiations with external suppliersPrepare reports regarding market conditionsNotify management of significant price changesConduct supplier auditsIdentify and source alternate vendors for key materialsIdentify new technologies and cost saving strategiesAssist in developing quotes for new productsAssist in customer repricingCreate new part codes in Fishbowl or ERP systemsInput raw material and component pricing into inventory systemAssist with cycle counts and year-end inventoryCollaborate with coworkers to ensure business goals are metSource raw materials, packaging and other components ensuring adherence to product specificationSupport Supply Chain Manager during periods of high demand or vacationOther duties as assignedThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this position. Experience with inventory management software, Fishbowl or EPR systems preferred BA/BS degree preferred APICS certification a plusEssential AbilitiesMath skills. Ability to monitor inventory levels to ensure timely ordering of raw materials to meet production schedules Excellent time management skills Ability to work effectively across the organization in a team environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated and ability to effectively prioritize tasks May be required to work a flexible schedule.Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting and standing.
