Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring productivity and connectivity with colleagues and clients. You will work standard hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, providing you a structured work schedule that promotes a healthy work-life balance. While much of your work will be done from home, regular virtual team meetings and consultations with other healthcare professionals will foster a collaborative and engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, meticulously identifying their specific emotional and psychological needs.

• Deliver both individual and group counseling sessions focused on addressing and managing emotional challenges related to aging, such as loneliness, grief, and chronic illness.

• Engage in collaborative treatment planning with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, ensuring the development of personalized and comprehensive care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.

• Educate healthcare staff and family members on effective strategies to improve the emotional well-being and quality of life of their elderly loved ones.

• Facilitate specialized grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, providing support during difficult end-of-life transitions.

• Implement and oversee cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions that encourage mental acuity and enhance overall cognitive function in elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on serving seniors who are facing a variety of challenges associated with aging, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. The unique context of our geriatric care setting requires sensitivity and tailored interventions to effectively aid our patients as they navigate the complexities of their later life stages.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.

• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective connection with senior clients from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits\n
