Operations Supervisor

About the Role The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the facility. This position reports to the Operations Manager. Successful applicants will organize and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the operations personnel; establish priorities for work and projects; assist in the planning and scheduling of outages and provide technical guidance as needed. This position is also responsible for supervising and training Shift Supervisors and ensuring the availability of qualified plant personnel to handle daily operational needs, and the facility’s readiness to meet emergency or unusual circumstances in a safe, productive manner. Position Responsibilities Tour all areas of the plant and oversee the safety of all activities of the assigned operating staff and contractors. During emergency or unusual situations, direct or personally perform required operations or corrective actions and coordinate activities of all involved personnel. Provide relief for Shift Supervisors during short-term absences, including vacation coverage; review, prioritize, and direct daily work activities for the shift when in relief. Oversee and update the Training program, SOPs, and operator logs. Ensure prioritization and completion of CMMSpreventative maintenance system work orders and assignments. Conduct daily meetings with shift supervisors. Coordinate day‑to‑day activities and directly supervise day shift operations employees; appraise performance, reward and coach, address complaints, and resolve problems. Responsible for receipt of waste and day‑to‑day activities in the tipping floor area of the facility. Responsible for water analysis of the facility. Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors when necessary. Serve as emergency coordinator in the absence of the Facility/Department Managers. Stand in for the Operations Manager in their absence. Position Requirements & Qualifications 5‑7years of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations, including hands‑on and/or supervisory experience with high‑pressure boilers and electric generation equipment. Minimum of high‑school diploma or equivalent. ASMEQRO Site‑Specific Operator Certification (License) required; must become certified within6months of hire. Physical Demands of the Role Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb. Ability to lift/carry 50lbs. Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces. Qualify to wear a full‑face respirator. Consistently work in various weather conditions. Shift Monday through Friday days, and periodic weekends. Off‑hours work supporting Plant and shift needs is required. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future. The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $118,700.00–$169,800.00USD.
