Sales Director, Walgreens

Job Description This is a full‑time role located in Chicago. The position may require occasional work from home and regular presence in the Vestcom Chicago office, as well as client visits within the city. The Sales Director – Walgreens Team will primarily be responsible for penetrating CPG shopper teams and driving a budget shift toward deployment of Vestcom Media Solutions (VMS) products and services. The role includes managing a campaign and sales team and driving top‑line revenue growth through consultative, top‑to‑top selling into large, complex retailers, CPGs, and media agencies. Key Areas of Responsibility Lead the formulation and execution of sales strategies & plans across the Walgreens sales team Penetrate and develop high‑level customer relationships with senior leadership across the assigned territory Call on various functional groups at Walgreens to secure support for Vestcom Media Solutions Call on local CPG shopper teams to secure media spend behind VMS products and services Confidently deliver the Vestcom shelf‑edge value proposition and influence clients through strong working knowledge of our solutions, products and services Maintain strong analytical skills and understand key retailer and CPG measurement criteria on both topline and bottom‑line metrics Apply creative problem‑solving and exceptional listening skills Carry individual quota in the tens of millions Manage, hire and develop the VMS shopper sales team into a collaborative and strategic selling entity Own prospecting approaches and develop presentations that position VMS as a winning shopper media value proposition Manage sales pipeline and deliver consistent close rates to achieve goals Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting utilizing the existing CRM tool Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to the leadership team Understand market dynamics and evangelize next‑gen solutions (e.g., digital) Represent VMS at tradeshows and local retailer and marketing events Work cross‑functionally with Vestcom Executive, Marketing, Strategy, Business Development, Finance, Solutions and Shopper teams to support the sales process Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls (Sarbanes‑Oxley Act 2002 Section 404) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required; Master’s degree a plus At least 10 years of sales experience with a Retail/CPG focus in marketing/sales organizations Experience working for a leading CPG or a large marketing services solution provider Knowledge of brand, retail, shopper marketing and media landscape Record of achieving top‑line revenue and bottom‑line targets Consultative data‑driven selling experience Experience developing and deploying sales and go‑to‑market strategies Exceptional skills in negotiation, conflict management, account management, category management, sales forecasting, and leading‑edge sales strategies Self‑starter with both hunter and mentor mindset Superior analytical and oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values Additional Requirements Full‑time role located in Chicago, with occasional remote work and client visits Travel up to 25% of the time to other geographies Compliance with company policies on drug‑free workplace and safety procedures Supervisory Responsibilities The Sales Director will supervise hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions for the sales team, in line with company policy and applicable laws.
