Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Utility Billing Specialist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the district's financial operations by managing accounts payable, utility billing, and administrative functions while delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, payments, and reimbursements in accordance with district policies and procedures.
• Prepare, maintain, and process utility billing for water services, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing.
• Respond to resident, vendor, and customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, account balances, and district services in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with general administrative and office support functions.
• Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies when necessary.
• Support month-end financial activities and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient district operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable, utility billing, bookkeeping, or municipal finance preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite , including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage 50 or similar accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
