Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable SpecialistOur client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for an AP professional who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment, has strong attention to detail, and can confidently use intermediate Excel skills to analyze and manage financial data.Location: North Austin, TX 78751 – Fully OnsitePay Rate: $28–$31/hr., depending on experienceEmployment Type: ContractResponsibilities:Process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.Review invoices, contracts, W-9s, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.Maintain accurate vendor records and payment information within accounting and payment systems.Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation and research discrepancies as needed.Code invoices to the appropriate GL accounts and cost centers.Coordinate and process vendor payments through check, ACH, and wire methods.Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies.Assist with monthly AP close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.Support the preparation and filing of annual 1099s and related reporting.Maintain organized AP documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests.Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, reconcile, and report financial information.Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.Required Qualifications:3+ years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience.Strong understanding of the full AP process, including invoice processing, coding, reconciliation, and vendor payments.Experience working in a high-volume AP environment.Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, functions, sorting/filtering, and data analysis.Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
