Horn Williamson & Collins, a WBENC certified law firm, has an opportunity for a Plaintiffs Litigation Paralegal. We are a fast growing, high energy firm concentrating in plaintiffs construction litigation. Horn Williamson & Collins enjoys a friendly, collegial work environment.

File Management & Client Relations

• Assist attorneys in managing collection matters from intake through resolution.
• Communicate with clients, property managers, debtors, and their representatives.
• Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and correspondence.
• Provide case status updates to attorneys and clients.

 

Account Review & Collections Administration

• Review ledgers, payment histories, and supporting records to verify balances due.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in account records.
• Calculate payoff amounts and maintain accurate account balances.
• Assist with negotiating and documenting payment plans.

 

Reporting & Financial Review

• Review legal bills and account information for accuracy.
• Prepare monthly collection and litigation status reports.
• Generate reports and spreadsheets for attorneys and clients.

 

Litigation Support

• Draft pleadings, motions, and other collection-related legal documents for attorney review.
• Prepare pre-judgment and post-judgment filings.
• File court documents and maintain litigation calendars.

 

Judgment Enforcement

• Prepare and process garnishments, bank attachments, sheriff sale documents, and other enforcement filings.
• Coordinate with courts, sheriffs, constables, employers, financial institutions, and other third parties regarding enforcement efforts.
• Monitor enforcement activity and post-judgment deadlines.

 

Administrative Support

• Maintain organized electronic and physical files.
• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Schedule meetings, hearings, and other case-related activities.
• Assist attorneys with special projects and other collection-related matters.

 

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or comparable legal experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Prior experience in collections, litigation, real estate, or community association law is preferred, but not required.
