Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Charge experience - Med/Surg experience - Telemetry and emergency response skills - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills - Medication administration experience - Respiratory case skills - Professional knowledge in isolation precautions and wound care - Cerner charting experience Description: Will work Charge as needed for this assignment. Position/Specialty: Med Surg RN - Urology/Nephrology. Shift: 3x12 Nights (18:45-07:15). Average daily census: 23 with a 25 bed unit. Weekend requirements: Will work every other weekend. Open to accommodating block schedule: Will try but not guaranteed. Float to other Medical Surgical units is required. Candidates must have an active license in hand or be in the application process. Preferred experience to include telemetry remote monitoring and the use of rapid response teams. Required skills include pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure knowledge. IV therapy skills such as blood product administration and central line management are necessary. Respiratory case experience includes administering CPAP/BiPAP and managing oxygen systems. Knowledge of wound care and isolation precautions is essential. Unit involves various patient diagnoses including urology/nephrology illnesses, kidney transplants, and step-down transfers from ICU. Special procedures include continuous bladder irrigation and post-operative care of kidney transplant patients. This is a very busy unit with frequent discharges and re-admissions. Expected to manage high patient loads and collaborate with interdisciplinary support personnel.
