Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Department: Neurosurgery

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Sr. Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX . This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Medical Assistant with strong clinical and organizational skills who is comfortable supporting multiple providers in a fast-paced Neurosurgery practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to two providers , assisting one provider at a time.

   

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs and other relevant clinical information.

   

• Assist with approximately 20 patients per day , including new and established patients.

   

• Support a busy practice with approximately 60 patients seen daily across the provider team.

   

• Assist with 30-minute new patient appointments and 15-minute established patient appointments .

   

• Accurately document patient information, clinical findings, and other relevant information in the electronic medical record.

   

• Manage and respond to inbasket messages in a timely and professional manner.

   

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available.

   

• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.

   

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation while protecting patient confidentiality.

   

• Provide compassionate, professional, and patient-focused care throughout the patient visit.

   

• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control procedures.

   

• Support providers with daily clinical operations and other Medical Assistant duties as assigned.

   

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

   

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

   

• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

   

• Previous experience in a specialty clinic or Neurosurgery setting preferred.

   

• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.

   

• Excellent attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.

   

• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

   

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

   

• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.

   

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

   

• Ability to work collaboratively with providers and other members of the healthcare team.
