Credentialing Coordinator, Lead

Organization: ABSMC-Alta Bates Summit Med Center Position Overview: Lead, coordinate and maintain all aspects of credentialing activities in accordance with required time frames, including initial applications, reappointments, allied health professionals, locum tenens and temporary privileges. If applicable, maintains the privilege delineation system. Maintains the medical staff database. Assists with the OPPE report process. As a lead will be responsible for the day to day operations of the credentialing department, managing work assignments, perform routine audits to ensure compliance of department policies, special credentialing projects, training employees, assist with standard work processes. Serves as the point of contact for credentialing questions and escalates issues to the manager as needed. Job Description: EDUCATION: HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: CPCS-Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist - Preferred TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Requires working knowledge of Joint Commission & CMS standards, Title 22 regulations, and medical staff law as they pertain to Medical Staff credentialing/privileging. Requires working knowledge and understanding of medical staff structure and communication lines. Medical terminology required Computerized database management required; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
