Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) The Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA), under the U.S. Marine Corps' Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS), oversees the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Family of Vehicles (FoV) — the next-generation replacement for the legacy Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV). This position directly supports ACV FoV production and sustainment by fabricating power, RF, and signal cable assemblies that are integrated into personnel, command, recovery, and weaponized vehicle variants. The Cable Fabricator builds, tests, and inspects power cables, RF/coaxial cable assemblies, and wire harnesses to engineering drawings and workmanship standards in support of the ACV FoV program. This role requires precision hand-skills in cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating cable and wire in accordance with military and industry specifications, along with strong attention to detail, quality, and traceability in a defense manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, cable schedules, and interconnect diagrams to fabricate cable and harness assemblies. Cut, strip, and prepare wire and cable (power, RF/coax, signal, and data bus) to specified lengths and tolerances. Perform crimp, solder, and mechanical termination of connectors, lugs, splices, and back shells. Fabricate RF/coaxial cable assemblies, including shield/braid termination, connector installation, and cable routing for controlled-impedance applications. Install shielding, sleeving, lacing, wrapping, and strain relief in accordance with workmanship standards. Perform in-process and final electrical tests (continuity, hi-pot/dielectric withstand, insulation resistance, and RF checks such as VSWR as applicable) and document results. Identify and tag/label assemblies for full material and process traceability (wire lot, connector lot, serial/lot number). Support first article inspection (FAI) builds and provides sample assemblies and data for engineering/quality review. Identify nonconformances, generate discrepancy documentation, and support root cause/corrective action activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstation consistent with 5S and lean manufacturing practices. Properly use, maintain, and calibrate hand tools, crimp tools, and test equipment; report tooling/equipment issues promptly. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance to resolve build issues and support continuous improvement. Complete required production paperwork, travelers, and electronic work instructions accurately and on schedule. Comply with all safety, ESD, FOD prevention, and export control (ITAR/EAR) procedures applicable to a DoD manufacturing environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of experience fabricating cable, wire harness, or electro-mechanical assemblies in an aerospace/defense or similar regulated manufacturing environment. Proficient in IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness standards (certification preferred). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists, and bills of material. Proficiency with hand and pneumatic crimp tools, wire strippers, soldering irons, and basic electrical test equipment (multimeter, hi-pot tester, continuity tester). Basic soldering skills. Ability to perform close, detailed work for extended periods, including use of magnification equipment. Strong attention to detail with a quality-first mindset appropriate for life-safety and mission-critical vehicle systems. Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background check for all required facility access. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a workbench; frequent use of hands/fingers for fine motor tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. or more occasionally. Work performed primarily in a manufacturing/production shop environment; may occasionally support work on or near vehicle platforms. Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by area (safety glasses, ESD wrist strap, etc.). Overtime and shift flexibility may be required to meet program production and delivery schedules.
