Tool Room Technician "A"/CNC Machinist- 1st or 2nd Shift

Job Title

1st or 2nd shift:

1st shift hours: 6:45am-2:45pm

2nd shift hours: 1:00pm-9:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm (some schedule flexibility allowed)

Key Tasks

1st priority daily execution:

Setup and removal of molds in production equipment in order to perform necessary maintenance and PM activities
Program and operate all tool room equipment
Make alterations to existing molds, fixtures, and tooling in support of design changes
Proficient in programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes
Maintain a safe working environment in the tool room for others conducting work in the tool room
Group leader responsibilities as assigned

2nd priority mold repairs/maintenance:

Mold & die disassembly & reassembly to support changeovers or repairs
Coordinate and track mold tool repairs through CMMS (eMaint)
Participate in RCFA on damaged tools from production

3rd priority continuous improvement reduce cost:

Train and mentor
Surface problems
Utilize PDCA to solve problems and drive improvements
5S

Education

Journeyman tool and die maker, or 7 plus years experience in a tool and die or mold shop

Knowledge and use of CNC controls

Experience

2-4 years experience in machining operations/building fixtures

Basic computer skills

Experience/exposure to injection molds is a plus
