The Groundskeeper I is responsible for Maintains lawns, responsible for general landscaping, and ensures that roadways, parking lots, and walkways are clear to meet institution's groundskeeping standards. Responsible for basic grounds maintenance. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently outdoors in various weather conditions. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field
- Valid Driver's License in good standing
- At least one year of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field
- Knowledge of the use of push mowers, riding lawn mowers, weed eaters
- Ability to operate push mowers, riding lawn mowers, weed eater
- Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments
- Ability to perform repetitive manual work
- Ability to do required lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
