Talascend is currently seeking a Metal Fabricator for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California .


Overview


This role involves assembling, repairing, and fabricating metal parts by operating mechanical equipment, using blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished products. The position requires attention to safety considerations, including handling substantial weights and exposure to physical risks.


Responsibilities

• Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts using mechanical equipment
• Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure correct dimensions and tolerances
• Join parts into sub-units or complete units
• Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
• Work under immediate supervision with minimal independent judgment
• Meet safety standards considering physical risks such as lifting heavy weights and exposure to machinery or chemicals

Qualifications

• High school diploma is a plus
• 2-4 years of experience in metal fabrication or related field
• Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures relevant to metal fabrication
• Ability to operate mechanical equipment and read blueprints
