Job Requirements

The Senior Staff Accountant will provide support to the Controller and accounting department on various accounting activities. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information to ensure the integrity of the information on the General Ledger as well as establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

This is a hybrid position located at our Support Center in Westminster, MA.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of lease accounting processes under ASC842.
• Ensure accurate and compliant recording of lease transactions and maintain data integrity.
• Conduct monthly analysis and reconciliations for complex balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) accounts.
• Identify and address discrepancies promptly, maintaining the accuracy of financial records.
• Take charge of the Revenue Recognition process, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606).
• Implement and maintain robust controls to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of revenue reporting.
• Assist in organizing and planning audit schedules, collaborating with auditors during state, federal, and internal audits, and various examinations.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and contribute to a seamless audit process.
• Collaborate with team members for cross-training to enhance flexibility and task rotation within the Department.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, suggesting and implementing changes to increase departmental effectiveness.
• Oversee compliance with Unclaimed Property filings, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Participate in month-end close activities and uphold compliance with monthly/quarterly/annual close schedules.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned accounts, providing valuable insights and financial analysis.

Work Experience

Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting.
• ASC 842 Lease Accounting knowledge preferred.
• ASC 606 Revenue Recognition technical accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience of account reconciliations, month and year-end close.
• Advanced knowledge in Excel as well as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and goal-orientated.
• Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
• Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
