Accounts Receivable Specialist - Distribution |Perth Amboy, NJ Job Category : General & Administrative Requisition Number : DRAFT021661 Full-Time On-site Locations Perth Amboy, NJ Pay or shift range: $23 USD to $28 USD Description As an Accounts Receivable Specialist , you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of business-to-business (B2B) customer accounts, driving timely collections, resolving invoice issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This is not a back-office accounting role — it’s a high-impact, customer-facing position where you partner closely with Sales and customers to keep cash flow moving and accounts current. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for your assigned accounts, balancing collections strategy, problem-solving, and relationship management to resolve past-due balances while preserving long-term business partnerships. This role is day shift, M-F, onsite in our Perth Amboy, NJ location. Responsibilities Contacting customers regarding outstanding account balances. Coordinate setting and releasing of credit holds, answering A/R calls. Review and reconcile customer short pays and resolve any customer billing issues. Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers. Oversee the function of applying cash and credit card payments made on open A/R invoices. Monitor AR aging and actively strive to keep AR amounts within budget. Maintain a team approach with customer service and sales departments in regard to the processes and procedures of the company credit policy. Scanning of required paperwork. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable with primary background in collections and dispute resolution. Solid understanding of basic account principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations. Ability to make independent credit decisions based upon company guidelines. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams & CoPilot. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively. Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure. Benefits Bunzl pay range for this role is $23.00 - $28.00 based on education, experience and location. Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits effective the 1st day of the month after 30 days.
