Mechanical Designer

A Mechanical Design Engineer job in East Peoria, IL (61611) is currently available through Belcan at one of our key Land System clients. To be considered for this role, you will have Mechanical Engineering and 5-10+ years of exp. of relevant experience. Job Duties: Design tooling, fixtures, and mechanical systems for heat treat and manufacturing equipment Create and maintain 3D models and drawings using Creo Develop facility layouts and equipment integration drawings using AutoCAD Conduct mechanical design reviews and equipment build reviews with suppliers Support furnace installations, equipment upgrades, and capital projects Participate in FATs, SATs, startup, and commissioning activities Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement mechanical design improvements Work with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability Support heat treat modernization, automation, and manufacturing improvement initiatives across multiple facilities Travel as needed to supplier locations and manufacturing sites to support projects and equipment implementation Required Qualifications: Mechanical Design Engineering: Strong experience designing industrial equipment, tooling, fixtures, and machine components Creo: Advanced proficiency creating 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings AutoCAD: Experience developing facility layouts, equipment integration drawings, and plant floor plans Heat Treat Equipment Knowledge: Understanding of furnaces, induction systems, quench equipment, material handling systems, and thermal processing operations Manufacturing Engineering: Experience supporting industrial manufacturing environments and production equipment Design Reviews: Ability to evaluate vendor designs, identify risks, and recommend improvements Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for mechanical systems Project Execution: Experience supporting capital projects, FATs, SATs, installation, and commissioning activities Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with suppliers, manufacturing teams, project managers, and engineering groups Preferred Qualifications: Technical Experience & Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Engineering Heat Treat Equipment & Tooling Equipment Layouts & Facility Integration Mechanical Design Reviews Equipment Build Reviews & Commissioning We provide a competitive pay and benefits package.
