Project Engineer


We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. This role will suit a technically minded professional who can coordinate multiple activities, communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, cost and programme.


Working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams, you will help ensure that projects are delivered in line with agreed specifications and contractual requirements. You will be expected to take ownership of assigned work packages, identify potential issues early and contribute practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, schedules and progress reports.
• Support project planning, cost control, risk management and change management processes.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors and clients to resolve technical and delivery issues.
• Track project milestones, ensuring actions, dependencies and deliverables are clearly managed.
• Participate in design reviews, progress meetings, site visits and commissioning activities where required.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards and health and safety procedures.
• Contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement and the development of efficient engineering processes.

About you


You will have experience in a project engineering, systems engineering or similar role, ideally within a technical, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure or industrial environment. A degree, HNC or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline is desirable, together with a sound understanding of project delivery principles.


You should be confident interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities and communicating with people at all levels. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential. Experience with project management software, CAD systems or relevant engineering tools would be advantageous.
