Industrial Maintenance Technician - 12 hour night shift - Columbus Plant

Abbott seeks a Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic for its Columbus nutrition manufacturing plant on a 12-hour night shift. The role involves maintaining and repairing high-speed filling, packaging, and facility equipment across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, certifications, and calibrations on fillers and ancillary manufacturing equipment
• Repair and adjust filling, capping, labeling, coding, packaging, and conveying systems as needed
• Maintain plant utility systems including refrigeration, HVAC, electrical power, and piping infrastructure
• Maintain accountability for all assigned tools, equipment, and shop machinery to prevent unnecessary downtime

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus two-year mechanical/electrical technical degree or equivalent
• Proven mechanical and electrical repair experience with high-speed filling and packaging equipment
• Troubleshooting and repair skills in plant utilities, welding, machining, gearbox, pump, drives, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment including lathes, mills, welders, and grinders
