Registered Nurse (RN)

An exciting opportunity awaits as you begin your career on a specialized neurological unit. This unit provides an excellent environment to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing your nursing and critical thinking skills. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, caring for patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain Barre Syndrome.

As a part of a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, this unit frequently handles acute and complex patient cases. Our facility employs state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology, allowing a specialty team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures effectively. Nurses are valued for their skills, talents, and compassion when caring for our patient population.

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological disorders

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans

Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately

Monitor patients' vital signs and health status, and document changes

Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning

Current RN License in New York

Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in telemetry

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)

The position requires a rotating shift schedule with blocked weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holidays. Nurses will be required to provide on-call support and may be responsible for callback duties dependent on unit needs.
