ISTD Robotics Branch Graduate Assistant - Fall 2026 - ATAS

Job Description The Robotic Branch of the Intelligent Sustainable Technologies Division (ISTD) within Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems Laboratory (ATAS) is looking for Graduate Assistants for Fall 2026 to work on various aspects of dexterous control of a robotic arm and small mobile platforms. These students should be able to work in a group setting to design, develop and implement various mechanical and electrical systems for use on our robot platforms. Tasks will include background research, SolidWorks design, programming, debugging, and testing. Required Minimum Qualifications Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Must be registered for at least 3+ credit hours Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of design principles Experience with rigid body transformations and their numeric representations Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts Familiarity with Linux and open source tools Familiarity with configuration management tools (git in particular) Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical personnel Employment Information Hours per week: 20 U.S. citizenship requirements: Not applicable Clearance type required: None Housing and relocation assistance: Not available Equal Employment Opportunity The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
