Specialist, Shipping and Receiving

Job Summary CECO Environmental is a global leader in sustainable solutions for industrial air, water, and energy transition. The Inventory Control & Shipping/Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, material movement, and the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. The role ensures proper receipt, storage, tracking, and disposition of materials in alignment with company standards. Responsibilities Inventory Control Monitor, track, and reconcile inventory levels within the inventory management system. Perform regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Maintain inventory locations, part numbers, labeling, and documentation. Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Production to support material availability. Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of all products and materials. Shipping Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of items, quantities, and documentation. Create shipping labels, packing lists, and compliance documents. Coordinate carrier pickups and maintain relationships with freight partners. Ensure all shipments meet company standards for quality, packaging, and timeliness. Track and confirm delivery of outgoing shipments as needed. Receiving Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, and equipment. Document and report any damaged or incorrect deliveries. Enter received goods into the inventory system and communicate receipt to relevant departments. Distribute or store received items in appropriate locations. Maintain receiving area organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance. General & Administrative Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation for all inventory and material transactions. Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures related to inventory storage and handling. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support other warehouse or operations tasks as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or shipping/receiving. Strong computer skills, including experience with inventory management or ERP systems. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or scanners (certification preferred). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to lift, move, and handle items typically required in a warehouse environment (generally up to 50 lbs). Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments. Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping procedures, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with lean principles or continuous improvement processes. ADA Requirements Work environment is a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, moving equipment, and other standard industrial conditions. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Physical demands include standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
