About the Position

Job Title: Step Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience in a Step Down or Progressive Care Unit License: Active Kentucky or compact license required Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH required Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 - Proficiency in Meditech EMR - Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted Description: This position is for a 34-bed Step Down unit. The nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will be expected to float within their scope of practice. Every other weekend work is required. Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. Travelers must reside at least 75 miles from the facility. The RN will be responsible for a variety of patient care tasks. Skills required include managing ports, blood product administration, and IV protocols. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge of cardiac telemetry and telemetry monitoring. The role includes care for patients with conditions such as CVA, renal failure, and post-operative care. The nurse will assist with procedures related to tracheostomy management and wound care. Candidates must be willing to comply with vaccination requirements.
