About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: WV or Compact RN License required Certifications: BLS; MAB preferred, ACLS Must-Have: - IV Start - Telemetry - PCU/IMC experience Description: This position is for a telemetry registered nurse with experience in pre/post-operative surgical cardiovascular patients and medical cardiac patients. The role involves monitoring vascular patients, amputations, and detox patients. The nurse will work 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, requiring work on weekdays and every other weekend. Float duties may be required as needed. Patient ratios are typically 1:4, with the potential stretch ratio of 5:1. The unit employs LPNs to support the RNs, leading to possible increased patient coverage. Experience with ostomies, chest tubes, wound vacs, CPAP/BiPAP, central lines, PICCs, and cardiac drips is essential. The candidate should be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias and managing medications like Heparin, Amio, and Cardizem. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Daily census is approximately 28 patients. The candidate must be willing to accommodate blocked schedule requests.
