Production Manager

AJM Packaging Corporation Joplin, MO Position Overview AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products – including paper plates, cups, bowls, and bags – is seeking a Production Manager to oversee three shifts in a fast‑paced manufacturing plant. The position will supervise, coordinate, and manage the manufacturing of all products, maintain production machinery, manage inventory, meet production schedules, ensure quality specifications are met, and accurately document all related paperwork. Responsibilities & Duties Oversee and manage all elements of the production of goods, coordinating the production staff to ensure company objectives and production schedules are met with minimal labor cost and production interruption. Provide overall supervision of the entire production staff, including interviewing and selecting job candidates; designating work assignments; providing instruction, training, and performance appraisals; and addressing and resolving issues. Continuously review product quality levels and ensure all corporate and plant quality standards are achieved. Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and corporate procedures. Accurately complete, process, and file all daily logs, quality records, and related production paperwork. Review and monitor scrap levels, assuming overall accountability for scrap. Review production operations and processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes. Monitor machinery for proper functioning and address issues as needed. Track inventory levels and make procurement requests for production materials, supplies, or equipment. Provide oversight and training of production staff and coordinate shift transitions to ensure expectations and goals are met. Ensure staff strictly adheres to housekeeping and safety rules, guidelines, and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures. Work cross‑functionally with Scheduling, Inventory, and Shipping/Receiving departments. Complete all other duties deemed necessary by the Supervisor. Minimum Requirements Three years or more of high‑volume production management experience. Must be 18 years of age or older. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a commitment to positive employee relations. Experience in paper, printing, or consumer product industry is very beneficial. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Ability to speak Spanish is helpful. COVID‑19 vaccination required prior to in‑person interviews and site visits, and commitment to receive all FDA‑approved and CDC‑recommended boosters during AJM employment.
